A Forgotten Generation

Several months ago I learned about an initiative undertaken by photographers around the country called A Forgotten Generation. This tremendous program consists of photographers (and helpers) donating their time and expertise to take pictures of seniors. The purpose of the program is to ensure that our parents and grandparents are not forgotten in the twilight of their lives. Each senior, as well as their family and living center are provided with pictures free of charge. I was intrigued from the moment I heard about this programs.

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity, with the help of several wonderful friends, to photograph 61 senior residents at the Cherry Creek Nursing Center. We were able to photograph many wonderful people who have lived such exciting lives. It was incredible to listen to their stories and more importantly the wisdom they passed on. I truly feel blessed to have been able to take their pictures and provide them to them and their families. I look forward to doing this again in the very near future and will certainly keep all you updated
